Open Day at Aylesbury Vale Crematorium

Aylesbury Vale Crematorium is issuing an open invitation to those living in and around its local communities to visit its picturesque, peaceful, site in September.

The crematorium is hosting a community open day on Saturday 7th September between 10am and 1pm.

Visitors will be able to tour the facilities and take a walk in the landscaped grounds as well as to meet the crematorium team and find out more about the work they do and the exceptional care they provide to make each service uniquely personal.

They will also have the opportunity to take a tour behind the scenes if they wish.

Aylesbury Vale Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites across England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

Westerleigh Group prides itself on providing exceptional care to the bereaved, the standards of which are inspected by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) in England and Wales, and the Scottish Government.

Lilly Fortune, Aylesbury Vale Crematorium Manager, said: “This open day is available to anyone to attend; no booking is necessary and it’s completely free.

“In addition to seeing our modern and beautiful facilities, visitors will be able to meet our compassionate team, ask any questions they may have about what we do, find out all about the exceptional care and services that we provide and how we can make a loved one’s service uniquely personal.

“We will also have some local funeral directors and celebrants in attendance, representatives from several local charities, including Cruse Bereavement Care and Florence Nightingale Hospice, and a local florist who will display some of her beautiful work.

Visitors will also be able to learn about the work Aylesbury Vale Crematorium does in its local community, and the charitable donations it makes, and learn about the various memorial options available to help the bereaved remember their loved ones.

Lilly added: “While attending the open day, visitors will also be able to write letters or cards to those they have lost and put them in our Letters to Loved Ones memorial post box and take some time to pause and reflect in our beautiful grounds, which are surrounded by nature.

“We look forward to welcoming members of the local community to our site in September.”
